Building a Foundational Practice with the Ayurvedic Clock
Friday September 20, 2024 1:00pm - 3:00pm CDT
In this two-hour lecture, we'll explore the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and learn how to use the Ayurvedic clock to balance your body, mind, emotions, and spirit. The session will start with a short introduction to Ayurveda, focusing on its core principles or the pillars of health: sleep, nutrition, energy management, and exercise. You'll gain an understanding of the Ayurvedic clock, which shows the relationship between the doshas and daily rhythms needed for optimal health and overall wellness.

Furthermore, you'll explore the importance of the six parts of the day, their meanings, and the reasons behind performing specific practices at certain times. This knowledge will help you establish a foundational Ayurvedic practice, highlighting the significance of daily routines (Dinacharya). Following a bookend philosophy, you'll get practical advice for developing effective morning and evening routines.

Our interactive session will provide a unique opportunity for you to actively participate, ask questions, and receive advice on integrating Ayurvedic principles into your daily life. By the end of the lecture, you'll better understand the Ayurvedic Clocks' role in holistic health, identify areas for improvement, and implement daily routines effectively.

This lecture is designed for beginners, holistic health enthusiasts, and anyone interested in improving their well-being through Ayurveda. No prior knowledge is required, making it a welcoming and accessible learning opportunity for all.

Tending Our BEing-ness: A Nature-based Earth Art and Soma Selfcare Ritual Practice
Saturday September 21, 2024 10:30am - 12:30pm CDT
What would it feel like to fall in love with the world again?

To rekindle the profound nourishing power of nature to your inner landscape during these times of uncertainty and transition? To reconnect with the natural harmony that flows through your lives, bodies and the Earth, a resonance often overwhelmed by the noise and demands of modern life. To recalibrate human DOingness with BEingness and foster reciprocity to the land we call home?

This offering braids together Somatic Movement, Meditation and Earth Altar Making to reacquaint our disorienting modern cadence to the rhythms of the natural world right outside your door. In a practice that invites movement to ground AND free, attunement to the subtle whispers of the world, and reconnection of your body’s innate wisdom and fluidity, this experience is an invitation to find beauty and meaning in small, often overlooked details and cultivate a practice of presence that acknowledges and honors the relationship between your inner and outer Self.

Explore where nature, creativity and meaning-making interconnect. Let yourself be playful, be connected, be altar-ed.

Tool Kit for Wellness
Saturday September 21, 2024 1:00pm - 3:00pm CDT
As someone who has struggled greatly with mental health all of her life these tools have provided Sarah a way to find peace, clarity, and regulation of her nervous system.

Our bodies, minds and spirit are a deeply integrated unit rather than separate pieces like western medicine typically frames them. When we feel dis-ease, dis-harmony or stressors it's not just in our head space but also manifests in our body as high blood pressure, adrenal fatigue, muscle pain, stomach ache, shortness or breath, increased heart rate, the list goes on.

In this workshop you will learn some of Sarah's favorite tools to help manage anxiety, stress, depression, and overall all the emotions that come along with the human experience.

"I was drawn to this work to heal myself. Now that I have seen how valuable these tools can be, it's my passion to make them accessible to others."

Inside Out: A Meditation Workshop
Saturday September 21, 2024 3:30pm - 5:30pm CDT
An integrative blend of Chinese Do-In, SomaYoga and Kundalini elements, this class offers curious students an opportunity to experience themselves in newfound ways while learning how to better hone their interoception - the ability to perceive the body from the inside out - and collectively practice meditation.

This class will begin by exploring many of the hows and whys of meditation, as well as the multitude of scientifically proven benefits of continued practice. Following that, we’ll focus on reconnecting with our bodies through gentle practices, including SomaYoga asana: conscious contraction and conscious release - no stretching or straining involved. Our closing meditation will be about 20 minutes, with time set aside for personal/group reflection, as needed.

A few words from your instructor, Erin Brennan:

As someone who maintains an active mind, body and lifestyle, I remember a time when words like mindfulness sounded more like mind full of stress. I couldn’t grasp seeking stillness, let alone intentionally focusing on nothing for any period of time. Thankfully, yoga found me and I finally found myself through yoga. I consider the practice of yoga to be a great privilege that is both accessible to all and indispensable for me personally.

My Shiatsu-Shin Tai training in 1997 and subsequent BA in Social Sciences continue to ground and inform my ongoing yogic studies. I have since accumulated certifications in SomaYoga (CYT-500), Reiki, Yoga Calm and Somatic Emotional Clearing. I am devoted to my ever-evolving practice and love sharing what I continue to discover.

Twirling Threads Ecstatic Dance & Cacao
Saturday September 21, 2024 6:30pm - 8:30pm CDT
Gather with community and drop into your own unique expression through the freedom of movement.

Our journey begins with laying a sturdy foundation. This includes a short description of what Ecstatic Dance is and introducing simple, yet, important guidelines (consent, non-verbal communication, and relief of judgement). Building this foundation leads us into a Heart-Opening Cacao Ceremony. Ceremony includes a guided meditation focused on gratitude, engaging the senses, and discovering an intention for our movement. A short moving meditation will then open the space for our dance.

Music will be a playlist curated by your facilitator, Lauren, and will be specific to this festival. The playlist provides dancers with a wave of sound to discover their own range of expression through movement. The dance will end with stillness, a closing circle, and gratitude.

Meditation in Motion: An Introduction to Tai-Chi and Qigong
Sunday September 22, 2024 8:00am - 10:00am CDT
Join Daniel in learning an ancient movement system designed for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. It's the whole package! The Harvard Medical School Guide to Tai Chi notes that 'a healthy body, strong heart and sharp mind are outcomes' of Tai Chi. It is a low impact exercise suited for all ages and fitness levels. This class will introduce a Tai-Chi form as well as many Qigong postures - The focus on what you will 'take home' will be in the Qigong section. It won't be overwhelming! The concepts discussed in this class are also transferable to your own wellness practices, whether that looks like Yoga, weight training, or otherwise. Daniel is also excited to share resources for further learning in class to give you the opportunity to make this a new lifelong practice.

Things to bring: You can bring a mat to learn on or go barefoot on the earth. Because of the beginning lecture, feel free to bring anything that will help you remain comfortable while seated for a short time.

Cacao Ceremony [ $ ]
Sunday September 22, 2024 3:30pm - 5:00pm CDT
Cacao is the great heart opener and connector.

"An outward experience for an inward journey."

A Cacao Ceremony is a sacred ancient ritual from Central and South America to honor the elements and spirits of nature, to create a harmonious matrix with all living beings and express gratitude for Life itself.

Mama Cacao holds the vibrations of kindness, unconditional love, and joy, allowing a loving connection with yourself and others. Cacao's energy is healing, motherly and very gentle. Mama Cacao speaks to the heart. When we connect with the heart’s energy our voice may speak from a place of deeper intelligence carrying vibrations of peace, alignment, and truth.

In this ceremony we together create a deeply safe container to begin unraveling the blocks in and around our hearts in order to facilitate the disentanglement of beliefs that keep us small.

Sarah's mission: to allow us to embrace all of ourselves so we may truly begin the journey to loving ourselves unconditionally; allowing space for the dark and the light in order to bring about transformative and lasting change. You must first become lovingly aware to step into your truth and power. I am here to hold the space for you to listen to your own best teacher. YOU.

EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:
- Ceremonial dose of Cacao (drink)
- History of Ceremonial Cacao and benefits physically, mentally, and energetically.
- Intention setting and inner inquiry
- Gentle activating movement
- Guided meditation
- Breathwork
- Sound Journey (sound bowls, ocean drum, chimes)
- Spirit Animal divination
- Sacred space to shed the layers blocking you from your fullest connection to Self, Love, and Universal Life Force Energy.

Limited to 20 people.
